Mesut Darendeli was born and raised in Gaziantep, Turkey. He is a graduate of University of Cukurova. His curiosity of photography began 14 years ago when he picked up his father’s Lubitel. Shortly after his dad’s camera discovery, he sadly lost it in a bagel shop. Since then, Mesut never looked back and continued on with his curiosity to which later developed.
Developed to his present day which he calls, “Modern art and conceptual photography”. His influences and inspiration derive from the arts such as Saz, Turkish native music instrument and poetry. His photo archives up to date are over twenty thousand ranging in all sorts of archives.He specializes in conceptual black and white as well as Modern Art.
On his spare time, you can find him playing a game of chess, computer hardware.
He’s quite a fan of the sciences especially statistics. In fact, he has been awarded with the “2004-2006 Best Science Web Portal Rewards” by Microsoft. He created three series which were among distinction.
Mesut now calls New York City his home where he finds himself filled with.
